U-16 Cricket League Finals

Hey guys,
Its been long since I blogged (4 months I think). Anyways I just got my 10th grade results and I somehow managed to get all A*(A stars or A plus, what ever you want to call it).
YAY!!!
Anyways back to my main topic. We recently finished our inaugural U-16 Cricket League. I played for the team Singapore Cricket Club, and am proud to say WE WON!
It was a rough season though, and truthfully, I never expected to win. I though we would come second or third. We won our 1st game, drew our 2nd but won the last two. Thus, we ended up second on the table and were through to the finals!
The finals was between the Singapore Cricket Club (SCC, thats my team) versus the Singapore Cricket Association (SCA).
P.O.I - all cricket teams in Singapore do not begin with Singapore Cricket "something", only two teams do :P
Back to the main point, we lost the toss and were put to bowl first. I bowled 6 overs, got 3 wickets and gave 11 runs. Though I'm happy with my figures, I felt I should have gotten their last 3 batsmen out as well.
(But oh well, I guess I should be happy with what I have)
They were all out for 107 in 27.5 overs.
So we needed 108 off 30 overs. This was actually not a challenging target and I knew we would win since we had a lot of good batsmen.
As I expected, I didn't have to bat since our top 4 batsmen finished off the game in 21.1 overs. Atulya, our vice-captain played brilliantly, scoring 43, although I felt he deserved a 50.
When the winning runs were scored, we all ran onto the field, all ecstatic that we had won. The feeling you get after you are crowned champions is indescribable.

Next week is a party organized by the club celebrating our victory, so I'm pretty excited for it.
So anyways, I have holidays now and I hope that I can think of new topics to blog on.
Actually it would be better if you can post some topics in the comment section below, and I'll write something on it.

Until next time, Sayonara :D

Its Time For......Exams!!!

Hey guys,
Yup, its that time of the year again which students (in my school at least) dread. Examination time. My finals are coming up in a month but before that we have prelims. Ya like one exam wasn't bad enough, we have to write two within a month and half's period. My prelims are going to start in a week and i haven't started serious studying. Yes, I did do my homework and learnt the few things the teachers asked us to, but not like sitting and studying sentence by sentence, word by word.

Luckily for us, our syllabus for the exams are not much. We only have our term two chapters. The teachers even keep asserting the fact that we're lucky by telling us how much they studied and how they used to burn the midnight oil. (My english teacher would be happy if she saw me use the idiom ;-)

I even find it pretty stupid that people think the only way to study is to sit six to seven hours at the table in front of your books. Only then will you gain knowledge. This is wrong and its only quantitative study and not qualitative. I rather study for an hour and half with full concentration. And I think breaks are very much needed when studying or else you will get saturated and won't be able to focus.

So, anyways I have to really hit the books now 'cause I only have a week left before my prelims.
And good luck to those who are taking any form of exam (especially myself ;-)

2012:End of The World??

Hey guys,
First of all
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
The year 2011 has finally come to an end. It has been an interesting year with many cool things happening like-
  • The marriage of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.
  • Killing of Osama Bin Laden.
  • Global population crossing 7 billion.
  • Ending of the Iraq war.
  • India winning the cricket world cup.
  • Ending of the Harry Potter movie series.
  • And other things....
So, we can gladly say that the year 2011 was a memorable one althought there were few drawbacks(natural disasters, but they are inevitable). But now the year has ended and no one knows what 2012 holds.
Will the world become a better place with international peace and security, no famines, droughts or calamities and my blog becoming famous ;) ?
Or will the world become a worse place to live in with increased pollution, crime and poverty?
Or will the world end altogether, like predicted by many people in the past?
There have been many debates and discussions going on about the predicted 2012 apocalypse. I do not believe that the world will end in 2012 but after going through this website(http://www.whatwillhappenin2012now.com/) I too became a little worried. Is Planet X, Nibiru, real?
Is NASA really hiding something from the public?
But even if they are and if the world was going to really end, we would have no possible way to save our selves right?
So, I don't think we all should be worried about it because there is nothing much we can really do.
Instead we should now decide to live the remaining days to the fullest and enjoy with friends and family.
So my fellow human beings, Happy New Year again.
May the new year be fun, enjoyable and memorable!!!
And a last word before signing off,

Start Living and Not Surviving ;)
